Four recipes for the Dextro Energy* Recovery° Drink: Recovery can be so delicious
After sport is before sport. Have you completed the last training session, lifted the last weight or completed the last lap? Then it's time for what many people tend to forget: recovery. Regeneration. In this story we want to introduce you to one of our favorite drinks. And we'll tell you how you can use our delicious Recovery° Drink in four versatile recipes. For delicious recharging in style.
Proteins, carbohydrates, magnesium and more after exercise: That's delicious too!
Your body loses minerals when you exercise, and its glycogen stores become empty due to intense performance and your muscles are “damaged” by strain (don’t worry, it has to be that way). If it's time for the rest phase after exercise, it's also time to recharge your reserves and repair your body.
Magnesium and Co.: Minerals after exercise make the difference
Minerals such as magnesium or vitamins must be replenished into the body so that fat metabolism and hydration, nerves and organs and much more can function properly. For example, if there is a lack of magnesium the next time you exercise, cramps can be the result.
Why your body needs proteins and carbohydrates after exercise
Your body also needs proteins to repair muscles and carbohydrates to replenish its glycogen stores in the muscles and liver. These stores provide your body with energy during sport. If they are empty, there is a risk of starvation - then nothing works anymore and every meter feels like a journey to the end of the world.
With the Dextro Energy* Recovery° Drink we offer you a water-soluble powder with a delicious tropical taste that offers everything your body needs after exercise. Whether carbohydrates and proteins in the ideal 3:1 ratio, magnesium, or vitamins such as B2 (riboflavin), B6, B9 (folic acid), B12, C or E: with Dextro you can recharge, regenerate - and be ready for the next challenge.
Four delicious recipes with the Dextro Energy* Recovery° Drink
Our Recovery° drink with tropical flavor is already super delicious. But we want to tell you four recipes that make it even more delicious - and versatile, because: As ice cream, sorbet, smoothie or non-alcoholic drink, it becomes a real reward after exercise. Whether as a snack by the lake, as a cool treat on the balcony or terrace or as an after-work drink on the sofa after a long day.
Recovery ice, ice cream, baby: perfect for summer
We thought: What if we could easily turn our favorite recovery drink into ice? Carbohydrates, proteins, magnesium and vitamins on a stick with style - and the whole thing is so delicious that you can't get enough of it. So we made it easy: The recipe is very easy to implement and perfect for the hot summer. By the way: You can also make ice cubes from the mix we're about to suggest - and use them to spice up lemonades and juices when it's much, much too hot and you need refreshment and strengthening.
“Popsicle” recipe
You need for 4 servings
- 4 ice cream molds for the freezer (popsicle mold, approx. 80 ml each)
- 45 g Energy* Recovery° Drink Tropical (powder)
- 150 ml water
- 170 ml fruit juice of your choice (we recommend pineapple, orange or mango)
- Step : Mix your recovery drink with powder and 150 ml of water.
- Step : Mix your liquid Recovery° Drink with the fruit juice. The best way to do this is to use a cocktail shaker or a slim spoon.
- Step: Pour the liquid into the ice cream molds. Depending on the size, you may need to add a little more or a little less liquid.
Perfect as an in-between course: your Recovery Mango Sorbet
Almost like ice cream, but a little more artistic: our Recovery Sorbet. In fine dining, sorbets are often served as an intermediate course because the sour delicacies stimulate digestion and reduce the feeling of satiety. The acid can also help “reset” the taste buds. So if you want to lighten up a multi-course fitness menu or combine your recovery care with culinary enjoyment, you can make your Dextro Energy* sorbet and serve it between two light, light, healthy courses. Very important: This recipe is prepared “à la minute”, i.e. just before enjoyment. You don't have to chill anything here, store it in the freezer or prepare anything (except for the frozen fruit). Tip: You can of course replace the mango with other frozen fruits, such as apricots or raspberries. Since the consistency and water content can be different here, you may have to play around with the quantities a bit before you can create the perfect sorbet.
Recipe “Recovery Mango Sorbet”
You need about 4-6 servings
- 1 high-performance blender or 1 large bowl (pre-chilled) and a powerful blender
- 200 ml water and 200 g sugar for the refined sugar or ready-made cane sugar syrup (200 ml)
- 45 g Dextro Energy* Recovery° Drink Tropical (powder)
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- If desired, zest a whole organic lime
- 350 g mango from the freezer (frozen)
- Step: Boil the water and sugar in a saucepan for about 3 minutes until the sugar has dissolved. If you use ready-made cane sugar syrup or refined sugar, this step is not necessary.
- Step: Sugar syrup, frozen mangoes, the Dextro Energy* Recovery° Drink powder and two tablespoons of lime juice (including zest, if you like) are placed in the high-performance blender or a large bowl. Puree everything until you have a homogeneous mass without any pieces. Your sorbet is ready, and the easiest way to serve it is with a portioning spoon on a nice plate.
The Recovery Smoothie: treat yourself to something good
Let's move on to the ultimate post-workout smoothie. With this recipe you give your body so much - and it tastes so delicious. We chose our Recovery° Drink as the base and then combined it with orange, lemon, avocado and much more. For a recovery smoothie that tastes good, is good for you and is fun. Of course, you can swap out individual components of this post-workout smoothie recipe at any time. Maybe you would like to replace the avocado fat with linseed oil? Or maybe a few other nuts would work just fine, or you could replace the lemon with a slightly milder fruit like mango or melon? Basically you can do whatever you want. With the Dextro Energy* Recovery° Drink as a base, you always have what you need - and the tropical note determines the direction in terms of taste.

The Recovery Frozen Daiquiri: without alcohol, with enjoyment
What do you think of a post-workout drink that would also look really good in a fine bar? As a starting point for our sports recovery drink, we chose a classic of bar culture that also tastes like vacation and time out: the Frozen Daiquiri. We leave out the alcohol, but we work with even more taste and a tropical world of aromas that will make you forget that you are holding a recovery drink in your hand. This recipe combines regeneration with pure, pure and stylish enjoyment.
Tip: If you don't have a high-performance mixer, you can use crushed ice. Then simply puree all the ingredients except the ice and then add the crushed ice. Ice cubes are too stable for most hand blenders and blending ice cubes in an open container can even be dangerous.
