Sascha and Sven answered the call: the cathedral is the finish line! On the first Sunday in October, it was that time again: the Generali Cologne Marathon 2024 was calling and thousands of running enthusiasts answered the call - including over 20 members of the Dextro Energy Sport Team. For them, the marathon in Cologne has long been a fixed date in the calendar and this year they were once again among the 30,000 or so participants who took up the challenge, with the half marathon once again proving particularly popular and being fully booked with 18,200 starters. Our team members Sascha Schwert and Sven Falkenberg, for whom the race in the cathedral city is a home race with a unique atmosphere, also took part. In perfect weather and a euphoric atmosphere, the two enjoyed every second on the course and crossed the finish line with times that more than satisfied them, but it wasn't just their own performance that counted for them on this day. An equally important part of their mission was to stand by the runners over the marathon distance and actively support them. As soon as they crossed the finish line, Sascha and Sven went straight to the KRAFT Runners cheering zone at kilometer 40. The Germany-wide running community has become a second sporting home for the pair. They have been training there regularly for over a year in a weekly interval training session that is open to all running levels - from beginners to professionals.
